Russia should actively participate in the international anti-terrorist
operations. Such opinion, according to the RIA Novosti correspondent,
was expressed by the leader of the Yabloko faction of the State
Duma Grigory Yavlinsky in an interview with journalists.
According to Yavlinsky, the Yabloko faction will insist on “the
tough and active participation of Russia in the operations against
terrorism” at the discussion of the situation connected with acts
of terrorism in the USA at he plenary meeting of the Duma on September
19, 2001. Yavlinsky also stressed that it was necessary to render
all possible assistance to all the countries in their fight against
terrorism.According to Yabloko’s leader, today Russia should develop
jointly with
other countries anti-terrorist measures. Yavlinsky stressed that
at present “it is high time for Russia to participate in all the
actions against terrorism rather than sit and wait”.
