The Yabloko movement is going to initiate a referendum on the
import of expended nuclear fuel to Russia, Yabloko leader Gregory
Yavlinsky announced in an interview today after the State Duma
approved bills on expended nuclear fuel imports on the third reading
today. Yavlinsky stressed that this decision does not correspond
to wishes and interests of Russian citizens. He said the Duma
voted for an ecological disaster that would take place in 5 or
10 years. The Yabloko is going to take all possible measures to
prove that the will of missions of citizens is more important
that wishes of greedy deputies and officials. Yavlinsky noted
in an interview with RBC that Yabloko will start initiating a
referendum without waiting for an approval of the above bills
from the Federation Council, the Upper House of parliament. He
stressed they will start collecting signatures in support of the
referendum right now.
