The Public Prosecutor General of the RF Vladimir Ustinov was forwarded a request on raising a libel case (in accordance with the Criminal Code of the RF) against Leonid Mayevsky who in his comments on the Ekho Moskvi radio station deliberately disseminated false information defaming the leaders and members of YABLOKO. Mayevsky also stated that members of the party and its heads had assisted and supported unlawful military formations and Chechen terrorists. In particular, Mayevsky stated that some of the participants of such formations were YABLOKO's members and aids of deputy Sergei Mitrokhin.

The Russian Democratic Party YABLOKO also applies to the Moscow Prosecutor' s Office with a plea to raise a criminal case against the Editor-in-Chief of the Zhizn paper and journalist of the same paper A. Popov for deliberate dissemination of false information. The letter also runs that the Zhizn paper "have repeatedly published biased and false information about the Russian Democratic Party YABLOKO, which demonstrates a deliberate and purposeful campaign launched by this media and aimed at degrading the honour and reputation of the Russian Democratic Party YABLOKO.

The complaint regarding publications in the Zhizn paper was also sent to the Central Electoral Commission.
