The YABLOKO faction will not support the draft for reforming RAO UES proposed by the RF Government. This statement was made by Deputy Head of the Yabloko faction in the State Duma Igor Artemyev to Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Andrei Sharonov during a meeting between representatives of the Ministry for Economic Development and deputies and experts of the YABLOKO faction held on July 18, 2002.

Artemyev explained YABLOKO's position, saying that the changes proposed by the government to the draft based on the results of the work of a tripartite commission (Government - the State Duma - the Federation Council) are "absolutely insufficient".

Artemyev handed to the representatives of the RF Ministry for Economic Development a Concept for Reforming the Electricity Sector developed by a large group of deputies and experts from the YABLOKO faction.

YABLOKO deputies plan to submit draft laws prepared on the basis of the Concept to the State Duma this autumn.
