Grigory Yavlinsky elected Chairman of the Russian Democratic Party Yabloko for a three-year term until December 31, 2004.

On December 23, 2001, during the secret ballot his candidacy was supported by 472 delegates (93.47%) at the 10th congress of Yabloko that is taking place in Moscow now; 33 delegates voted against (6.53%). The results were announced on Sunday at 5:45 a.m.

No alternative candidacies were proposed for this post.

An automatic information system was used to count the votes: the information from the bulletins was scanned into computer's memory.
