On May 28-31 Grigory Yavlinsky
will participate in the annual International Monetary Conference
to be held in Paris.
The conference will be opened
by the President of France Jacques Chiraq and Prime Minister
of France Lionel Jospin The International Monetary Conference
is a private organisation that brings together the executive
directors of a hundred of the leading world banks (from
28 countries), in particular such banks as Credit Commercial
de France, the Federal Reserve bank of New York, the European
Investment Bank, Kommerzbank AG, etc., as well as finance
ministers and representatives of the central banks of developed
countries (Canada, the Central Bank of Europe, the Bank
of England, the Federal Reserve System of the USA, the Bank
of France, the German Bundesbank, the Bank of Japan).
On May 29 Grigory Yavlinsky
will leave Paris for Oslo to deliver a lecture in the Nobel
Institute with the Nobel Prize Committee on May 30.
The topic of the lecture
is “The Future of Russia”.
On June 1, 2000, at the invitation
of the Oxford University Discussion Club, Grigory Yavlinsky
will participate in one of the Oxford debate(in the UK).
The topic be debated by
Grigory Yavlinsky in the club is entitled “Russia has no
Future as a Superpower”. The Oxford University Discussion
Club was founded in 1823. US Presidents Nixon and Carter,
Mother Theresa, Yasser Arafat, the Dalai Lama I. Shamir,
Benazir Bhutto, F. de Clerk and other famous people have
participated in the club's debates.

Yavlinsky participates in the public debates in the Oxford
University on the topic entitled Russia has no Future as
a Superpower.

Late on June 1, 2000, Grigory Yavlinsky
will debate with members of the Debating Chamber of Oxford
University (UK).
The topic to be debated by Grigory Yavlinsky
at the club is entitled Russia has no Future as a Superpower.
The discussion will be organised in accordance with the
procedure adopted in the House of Commons of the English
Parliament and will last 135 minutes.
Based on the results of the discussion,
the House will issue a verdict on the winning viewpoint.
The audience of the Chamber comprises the world academic
and political elite and the students of Oxford University.
The Debating Chamber of Oxford University
was founded in 1823. At different times US Presidents Nixon
