Dear colleagues,
As numerous media, including web-based publications, have already described your proposals in detail, thereby enabling us to learn about them, we no longer see any point in the meeting scheduled at your initiative for January 29, 2003.
Unfortunately your proposals are unacceptable for us.
At the same time we have not received any answer from the SPS on [YABLOKO's] detailed proposals to form a New Democratic Coalition on the basis of a joint political platform the "20 Principles Charter" that we submitted to the Democratic Assembly in December 2002.
We also propose reaching agreement on mutual politically correct behaviour during the [electoral campaigns of ] 2003 and 2004 and on this basis to continue the following:
- coordination of candidates in single mandate electoral districts to prevent our candidates from standing against each other;
- coordination of the work of our factions in the State Duma;
- the practice of joint political actions, such as, for example, the declaration on the situation in Turkmenistan;
- discussion sometime soon on the basis of the "20 Principles Charter" – of the platform of the New Democratic Coalition – the terms and procedure for its formation.
