Ivanenko commented on the presidential proposal to appoint Mikhail
Fradkov as Prime Minister. According to Ivanenko, the decision is rather
demonstrative: the President does not appoint a political figure, even
partially independent, for the second term of office. Consequently an
individual experienced in government service but never noticed in political
processes was named.
"The President has made it clear that he will directly govern and
determine the policy of the country even more than was the case in the
past", Ivanenko declared.
