More Deputies Express Their Opposition Than Had Been Predicted

Members of the Yabloko and Communists factions voted solidly against the government, Russian media reported. Russian Regions leader Oleg Morozov told gazeta.ru that the measure would fail not because a Duma majority loves the government, but because there is simply no sense in dismissing the government just before new Duma and presidential elections. According to "Vremya novostei" on 19 June, more deputies voted against the government than had been expected, and that might have been because no one from the government bothered to show up for the vote.
