The YABLOKO faction in the State Duma intends to raise the issue
of dismissing the government, the faction told RIA Novosti. It is
likely that this will happen at the first May session of the lower
house of the Russian parliament to be held on May 14.
The faction intends to start collecting signatures in support
of its demand.
On Saturday, the YABLOKO party instructed its Duma faction to
initiate the dismissal of the government in parliament. The party
accuses the government of "failing to fulfil its functions."
The government links the statement to the launch of a struggle
for seats in parliament. A regular election is scheduled to take
place late next year.
