The Yabloko faction is going to send an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin today, asking him to settle the situation around NTV with the help of the Supreme Court. Yabloko leader Grigory Yavlinsky announced this decision at a press conference today. He noted the Supreme Court should decide whether the meeting of NTV shareholders was legal or not. As we have already reported, the special meeting of shareholders introduced changes in the leadership of NTV. "The state wants to nationalize NTV with the help of Gazprom, and it is important to separate this problem from debt issues," Yavlinsky stressed. He mentioned it is very important to be respectful to NTV journalists and expressed hope that the conciliatory commission will make a wise decision.
