Makarov/. The Yabloko party comes out for the European way of
Russia's development, Grigory YavlDECEMBER 16, 2001 (from RIA
Novosti's Nikolai Makarov) -- Yabloko's Central Council is rounding
off a closed-door session devoted to preparations for the next,
10th congress of this political association. The forum, to be
held in Moscow on December 22 and 23, will transform Yabloko into
a political party.
Yevgenia Dillendorf, spokeswoman for the Yabloko faction in the
State Duma, or parliament's lower house, told RIA Novosti that
the participants in the Central Council session had approved the
new party's draft charter and had now proceeded to discussions
of its draft programme.
Ms Dillendorf said that the Central Council would recommend that
the congress confirm the name Russian Democratic Party Yabloko.
