The Yabloko faction in the State Duma is likely to support in
first reading the draft laws aiming at conducting pension reform
in Russia. Such an opinion, says the RIA Novosti correspondent,
was expressed at the press conference by Sergei Ivanenko, First
Deputy Head of the Yabloko faction, which took place in the State
Duma on Friday.
At the same time, Ivanenko noted that in the Yabloko faction’s
opinion, the draft laws submitted to the State Duma have been
"poorly drafted" and do not stipulate the reform of
the pension system. Ivanenko stressed that these draft laws require
considerable amendments, which requires the formation of a special
group to do this.
Speaking about the position of the Yabloko faction towards pension
reform in general, Sergei Ivanenko said that Yabloko supports
a transition to an accumulation-based pension system in Russia.
At the same time, due to the poor state of preparation of the
draft law, pension reform should be deferred to a later period,
whether or not the proposed draft laws are adopted in first reading
or not, said Sergei Ivanenko.
