In consideration of the situation before the impending second
round of the presidential elections, and after deliberation and
a vote on the subject, the Fourth Congress has accepted the following
political position:
We call on all voters to actively participate in the vote July
3, we will never support the Communist Party of Gennady Zyuganov
under any circumstances, we cannot provide unconditional support
for Boris Yeltsin, we are convinced that the outcome of the election
will depend highly upon how Boris Yeltsin reacts to a number of
questions posed by the Fourth Congress concerning the political
situation in the country, the Congress has approved of turning
to Yeltsin, the voters, and all those who support Grigory Yavlinsky,
the Congress also leaves to the regional organizations [of Yabloko]
the decision as to whether they will follow the Congress' recommendations
to support Yeltsin, the Congress also assigns to Grigory Yavlinsky
and the leadership of the association to establish and adjust
the position of Yabloko in relation to the Congress' resolutions.
