Today activists and leaders of the YABLOKO party paid tribute
to the victims of the act of terror which 11 years ago took
the lives of 124 residents of a block of flats at Kashirskaya
highway in Moscow. YABLOKO’s activists laid flowers to the
monument built in the place of a block of flats ruined by
the blast.
The explosion took place in the basement of an eight-storied
block of flats (Kashirskoye highway 6, bldg. 3) on September
13, 1999, at 5 a.m. Due to the fact that the block of flats
was built of brick, it was completely destroyed and all the
residents -124 people - who were in the building were killed,
seven people were injured and 119 families were affected by
that tragedy.
