| On September 4 YABLOKO presented its books at the 23rd
Moscow International Book Fair.
Member of YABLOKO’s Political Committee, head of the International
Security Centre under the Institute of World Economy and International
Relations with the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of
the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexei Arbatov presented his
book The Equation of Security devoted to Russia’s international
policies and security issues.
Member of YABLOKO’s Political Committee, member of the first
Russian parliament and one of the authors of the Russian Constitution
Viktor Sheinis presented his works: a two-volume book “The
UP and Down of the Parliament”, as well as a number of booklets
on the urgent issues of modern Russian history.
Galina Mikhalyova, Secretary of YABLOKO’s Political Committee
and Chair of YABLOKO’s Gender faction, presented books based
on the work of YABLOKO’s Political Committee (the second edition
of Overcoming Stalin’s Legacy and Environmentally Unfriendly
Policies in Russia and YABLOKO’s tasks), her own book Russian
Parties in the Context of Transformations, as well as a collection
of articles of the conference Women’s Movement: Yesterday,
Today and Tomorrow.
Andrei Akopyan, member of Regional Council of the Moscow
branch of YABLOKO, Director General of the Republican Centre
of Reproduction under the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian
Federation, presented books devoted to the urgent issues of
healthcare and social economics.
Chair of the party Sergei Mitrokhin told about YABLOKO’s
work in Moscow and presented a book (“Moscow Needs Changes!”)
covering the results of this work and proposing an alternative
to the policies of the Moscow authorities.
After the presentation Sergei Mitrokhin, Galina Mikhalyova
and member of Political Committee and the founder of YABLOKO
Grigory Yavlinsky signed their books for the guests of YABLOKO’s
stand at the book fair.
