According to the votings of the views, Sergei Mitrokhin won over Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of the LDPR party, in the television debates at the Russia-1 channel. The debates were devoted to the growth of food prices in Russia.

In the Moscow region 27,200 viewers voted for YABLOKO’s leader, and 16,500 for Vladimir Zhirinovsky. The voting was held via telephone calls and sms.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky proposed to freeze price on all the socially important food-stuffs.
However, YABLOKO’s viewpoint won over: Mitrokhin insisted that market methods should be applied when combating price growth. Such methods include interventions from the Grain Fund and organisation of grain exchanges at electronic platforms which will be free from mediators.
