The YABLOKO party supports the action of the Federation of
Russia’s Motorists targeted at introducing amendments into
the traffic rules regulating the use of special signals on
officials’ cars.
The recent developments on the Russian roads, in particular,
a scandal with Presidential Advisor (the post represents virtually
a kind of honourable discharge) abusing his right of preferential
passage shows the importance of this action and its public
importance.
YABLOKO insists that stopping traffic at roads [so that high
officials could freely pass], use of flashers and other traffic
advantages should be prohibited for all the cars except those
of emergency, President’s and Prime Minister’s.
