Dear friends,
Please receive our deep and sincere condolences regarding
the passing of Pyotr Vail. Our hearts go out to Ella, all
next-of-kin, friends and colleagues, and all the readers and
listeners of Pyotr Lvovich.
The loss of Russian social and political journalism, aesthetics
and prose, as well as journalism in general is incalculable.
This is something that we can never retrieve and recover.
Pyotr was such a bright light, so open and inquisitive about
all that life has to offer – in short he was a wonderful person.
He has left this world, but has granted us an opportunity
to stay close to him through his books.
