On
August 3 YABLOKO’s candidates to the deputies of the Moscow
City Duma will participate in collection of signatures required
for enrollment in the election campaign.
Leaders of the regional groups (47 YABLOKO’s candidates)
together with party activists and supporters will participate
in the pickets in the streets and by metro stations.
Collection of signatures will be also organized after public
hearings on the construction of a garage in the yard of two
houses in Perervinsky boulevard. For five years YABLOOKO together
with the residents of these houses has been opposing this
construction plan. Sergei Mitrokhin, leader of the YABLOKO
party and deputy of the Moscow City Duma, will participate
in the hearings and collection of signatures.
At the same time YABLOKO can not rule out that the police
may continue detaining collectors of signatures. “Despite
arbitrary rule and unlawful interaction of the authorities
we shall continue collection of signatures,” Mitrokhin said.
He linked such actions of the police with unwillingness of
the authorities to see YABLOKO’s deputies in the Moscow City
Duma.
Last week police managed to disrupt collection of signatures
virtually in all the districts of Moscow. In three days the
police detained 50 YABLOKO’s collectors of signatures and
the case on two YABLOKO’s activists was sent to the Dorogomilovsky
district court.
YABLOKO has to submit to the Electoral Commission about 80,000
signatures to get enrollment in the election campaign. The
party plans to collect 100,000 signatures within three weeks
required for such collection by law.
