“Boris Vishnevsky’s victory in court makes an important precedent, says the leader of St.Petersburg branch of YABLOKO Maxim Reznik. – Now we can hope that other people who became victims of fraud during municipal elections will be able to seek and find justice in St.Petersburg court. In particular, we hope that our colleague Tatyana Sharagina who ran her campaign in the same electoral district Morskoi will be able to return by means of a trial her deputy mandate which she won in an honest fight.”

Boris Vishnevsky won the case in the Vlasileostrovsky Court where he proved fraud at municipal elections at one of the ballot stations of the Moirskoi electoral district.

“I think that Boris Vishnevsky’s victory also marks a defeat of Governor Valentina Matviyenko. I am certain that St.Petersburg Governor made all she could so that one of the well-known and consistent critics of the city government would not get his deputy’s mandate. Probably Matviyenko has already become a lame duck. Her administrative resource has sharply fallen,” Reznik said.
