of budget funding for treatment of cancer patients
means genocide!
Statement by the Social Democratic
Faction of the Russian United Democratic Party YABLOKO,
December 12, 2012.
We are outraged by the statement made
by Maxim Mishchenko, leader of the [pro-Kremlin] Young
Russia movement, on the need to reduce budget expenditure
on treatment of cancer patients. The former MP from
the United Russia faction intends to introduce his
criminal initiative at the hearings of the Public
Chamber devoted to paid medical services, after which
he intends to send the draft to the Ministry of Healthcare.
We regard the initiative proposed
by the leader of United Russia's youth organisation
as an open manifestation of fascism and violation
of the Constitution of the Russian Federation guaranteeing
all citizens the right to life and free health care.
We demand that the ruling party stop
its mockery of Russia’s people and the attack
on the right of citizens to high-quality free education
and free health care, as well as curbing of the social
responsibilities of the state taking place against
the background of an unprecedented in Russia's history
growth of oil and gas revenues... |

leader made a speech at the doctors’ congress

YABLOKO’s leader Sergei Mitrokhin
made a speech at the Pirogov Doctors’ Congress
which is taking place in Moscow today. In the beginning
of his speech Sergei Mitrokhin expressed his indignation
that officials from the Ministry of Healthcare neglected
this representative doctors’ meeting. “It
seems to me that this is the most eloquent testimony
that the management of our healthcare system is unprofessional,”
Mitrokhin said.
Sergei Mitrokhin also reiterated that
the YABLOKO party had already begun active cooperation
with the Russian Medical Association (RMA) headed
by Dr.Ashot Sarkisyan...

leaders of YABLOKO and the Russian Medical Association
signed a Memorandum on development of a healthcare
reform

The leaders of YABLOKO and the Russian
Medical Association (RMA) signed today a Memorandum
on state policies in healthcare and a healthcare reform.
“The positions, approaches and
the concept of the healthcare reform proposed by the
RMA completely coincide with YABLOKO’s approach,”
Sergei Mitrokhin said opening the press-conference.
According to Mitrokhin, the party will reinforce its
programme in the part of healthcare measures and will
get a possibility to work with Russia’s medical
community.
“Our common task is not only
formulate a concept of a healthcare reform and translate
medical and research tasks into a political language,
but also to protect doctors and patients,” added
Galina Mikhalyova, Executive Secretary of YABLOKO’s
Political Committee.
“The slogan of our party has
been “Freedom and Justice”, Mitrokhin
reiterated. “However, the main drawback of the
present healthcare system is the lack of both of them.
And YABLOKO and the Russian Medical Association completely
agree in their vision of this problem,” he said...

on the healthcare reform

A press conference by YABLOKO and
the Russian Medical Association (RMA) on the healthcare
reform will take place in the Independent Press Centre,
Moscow, on Thursday, April 8. YABLOKO and RMA will
tell in detail about the Memorandum on the State Policies
of Healthcare and the Healthcare Reform that will
be signed by YABLOKO and the RMA. The draft document
was adopted at YABLOKO’s Political Committee meeting
on March 27, 2010. YABLOKO’s
Chairman Sergei Mitrokhin and RMA President Ashot
Sarkisyan will sign the Memorandum at the press conference.
The press conference will begin at
12-00.

and the Russian Medical Association announce their
cooperation

On March 27, the Political Committee
of the YABLOKO party and the Russian Medical Association
(RMA) signed a Memorandum on cooperation in reforming
the healthcare in Russia.
The Memorandum fixed the intentions
of YABLOKO and the RMA to cooperate in development
of new approaches to the healthcare reform, determining
the priorities for the sector and protection of the
rights of the medical workers and the patients.
Representatives of the RMA headed
by their President Ashot Sarkisyan gave YABLOKO’s
Political Committee of their proposals on each of
the lines of cooperation...
