leader Sergei Mitrokhin: The Treaty on the Black Sea
Fleet forms a basis for long-term cooperation between
Russia and Ukraine
Interfax, April 27, 2010
“I think that this treaty is useful
and profitable for both the countries. This is a step
forward towards integration creating a basis for further
long-term cooperation,” YABLOKO’s leader Sergei Mitrokhin
told to Interfax on Tuesday.
However, considering the fact that
Russia simultaneously lowered gas price for Ukraine
by 30 per cent, Mitrokhin noted that this was “a high
price paid by Russia”.
Russia strategy in Ukraine should not be restricted
to debt repayment
Deputy Head of the Yabloko
faction in the State Duma, Sergei Ivanenko, warned
against limiting Russia's strategy in Ukraine to the
repayment of debts for gas shipments.
